The Shelton Parks & Recreation Department will be holding a conditioning program for 8th grade boys at the Shelton High School weight room. The classes will meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30-6:30 pm beginning Jan. 11 and ending March 16 for a total of 27 dates.
The program will not be held when school is not in session.
The goals of the program will be to increase strength and conditioning that will help to prevent injury, will improve speed, power, and endurance along with discussion on nutrition.
Dan Dunaj will be the director of the program. He is a certified Sports Performance Coach and was a past strength and conditioning coach at SCSU and is a current assistant football and strength and conditioning coach at Shelton High School. The cost for the camp is $175. Space is limited with those interested required to pre-register and complete a waiver at the Parks and Recreation Department, 41 Church Street.
