The Shelton High School Drama Club will present Disney’s The Little Mermaid as their annual spring musical production at the end of April. The club has just announced that they have added a Saturday matinee to encourage families to bring their children to the production. Although advisors Joe Sedlock and Mia Scarpa already had a full weekend of shows planned, they felt that an added afternoon performance would be more kid-friendly, especially since The Little Mermaid has become a family classic.
All children in grades K-8 who attend Shelton Public Schools will receive additional information about the matinee performance.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid features all the familiar songs that audiences remember from the animated movie which premiered in 1989, as well as several new songs by the Disney team written especially for the stage-version of the show.
This year, the SHS production lists Justin Zenchuk, Katherine Sedlock, and Fiona Bryson as directors of the production.
Shelton High School will hold performances on Thursday April 28 at 7 PM, Friday April 29 at 8PM, and Saturday April 30 at 2 PM and 8 PM.
Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.showtix4u.com beginning March 29. Information about additional pricing specials for students can be accessed at the ticketing website.
